Hope you are staying warm with this sudden change of temperature! This week I would like to summarize what our division 2 students are working on, as well as share some great activities that you and your family can do at home to reinforce what we are learning at school!
Students in grades 3 thru 6 are working on developing their frisbee skills. We have been learning how to throw forehand and backhand, catching and passing the frisbee throughout the month of October. As we wrap up October we are now using our skills to play the two common sports associated with frisbee: Frisbee Golf and Ultimate Frisbee!
Frisbee is an easy and inexpensive sport to play with your family. Please visit the links below to find some great games you and your family can try to reinforce these skills at home! As well as keeping your family active too!

Hello!
Well September flew by and we are now into October!
Reflecting on our first month of PE the students learned the importance of living a balanced lifestyle in order to grow and develop into a strong and healthy adult.
We used the acronym S.P.A.R.K. to remind us of the 5 key ingredients to living a balanced lifestyle...
S Select Fruits and Veggies when snacking (try for 5-10 servings a day)
P Play actively for 60 minutes daily
A Avoid sugar and fat in your diet
R Reduce screen time to less than 2 hours a day
K Keep hydrated by drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day
All students worked on getting back into shape after being away from school for so long with our 5 components of health related fitness activity cards:
1) Cardio-vascular Endurance
2) Muscular Endurance
3) Muscular Strength
4) Flexibility
5) Body Composition and Diet
